Histopathological pattern of adult renal tumours in a tertiary cancer center

Background: Renal tumours are 16th most common malignancies in the world accounting for 2.2% of all new and 1.8% cancer deaths. Histopathological classification renal along with tumour grade stage is proven to have prognostic value. Material Methods: This was a retrospective study conducted Department Pathology at B.P. Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital Bharatpur from January 2017 December 2019 including cases partial radical nephrectomies patients more than sixteen years age. Results: Total 78 nephrectomy specimens were received out which 70 (89.7% consisted malignant 8 (10.3%) benign lesions. Clear cell type carcinoma consisting 57 (81.4%) carcinoma, followed by papillary 9(12.9%), Cchromophobe (4.3%) one case (1.3%) multiloculated cystic neoplasm noted. seen age range 26 80 majority 50 age, while small peak (14.3%) noted female 31 40 Conclusions: found increased incidence among contrast studies done Western population.
